Bryan, Operations

After graduating from Northwest High School in 1999, Bryan attended Mount Union College. In 2003, he had managed to graduate cum laude with a Bachelors Degree in Business and a Minor In Accounting. He has been working full-time at Echols ever since.

Bryan first started helping out his Dad on Saturdays every once in a while.   He was probably about 12 or 13 and all he would really do is help clean up the shop and make drive cleats. Around the age of 16 or 17 he started working out in the field installing, but only as a helper. he was still in high school at the time, so he would only be working summer, spring, and Christmas breaks.  Says Bryan "I probably wouldn't have gotten into this profession were it not for my Dad."

hen asked what he enjoys most about his job at Echols, he stated "I'd probably have to say our employees, We have a lot of guys who have been here for a long time and over the years you really get to know them. Everybody has their own personality and it's neat to see how we all mesh together to be the best company we can be."
"My main hobby would have to be soccer. I have been playing since the first grade. My senior year of high school I helped to lead our team to the State Final. I went on to play four more years at Mount Union College and still play recreationally. After college, I went back to Northwest to help coach for two seasons so far."

Bryan currently handles the books for the service department, cost job cards, prepares the billing for new construction and replacement, handles payroll, checks invoices, purchases material, etc.

Jim, President & CEO

Jim first started in the HVAC industry in 1969.  He was hired on as a shop helper at C.R. Kurtz Heating in Canal Fulton, OH.  He and a few friends were hired to help out temporarily and he never left the industry.

The schooling/training never stops. It’s a continuous process to stay on top of all of the industry changes. Jim attends hours upon hours of schooling each year in order to maintain his state license. Jim got his apprenticeship from Sheet Metal Local 70 many years ago and has worked his way up from an installer, to a service technician, and now the president of Echols Heating & Air Conditioning.

"One of the most interesting aspects of the job is that there is something different every day." Jim said. "You can never be sure what the day will have in store for you."

Jim is married to his wife, Elaine. Together the two of them have 5 children, two of which are employed at Echols, and 10 grandchildren with an eleventh on the way. Jim’s hobbies include fishing, scuba diving, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Under Jim’s direction, the business began with only two  employees and has since grown to over 25 employees. The company has also outgrown two previous buildings.

With all of the responsibilities that come with being the president, Jim still looks forward to coming to work each day.
